Mayo Mountain Rescue were called into action by An Garda Síochána

Mayo Mountain Rescue have wished a woman well after she suffered an unfortunate injury while descending Croagh Patrick.

At 12.30pm on Sunday, July 6, the Mayo Mountain Rescue group were informed by Gardaí of an incident where a woman suffered an accident while hiking the mountain with her mother and three other people.

The incident occurred during her descent when she hurt her ankle. Following a 30-minute walk, the group was located along the walking track.

Emergency treatment was administered before the woman was taken by the waiting ambulance at the foot of the mountain to Mayo University Hospital for further treatment.
