BALLINA RFC are giving sports fans a unique opportunity to watch Ireland take on the All Blacks in the home club of Irish captain Caelan Doris. The big game takes place next Friday evening in Dublin and Ballina are inviting those who can't make it to the Aviva Stadium to come and watch the game in their clubhouse on Creggs Road.

Doris and another former Ballina RFC clubman Dave Heffernan have been preparing for the big match in Portugal with the rest of the Irish squad and there's huge excitement on Moyside as the countdown continues to the meeting of two of the top sides in World rugby.

"We're very proud to have Dave and Caelan in the squad - two men who began their rugby journey here in Ballina - and there's great excitement in the town as the match against New Zealand comes closer," Ballina RFC President, Ed Gunning told The Mayo News.

"Rugby is a huge part of the community here in Ballina and the surrounding area and to have two of our own involved in the squad for the Autumn Internationals is fantastic. Th fact that Caelan will captain the side is the icing on the cake and we want to share our joy with everyone. That's why we're inviting the community to come along on Friday night and watch the big match in our clubhouse where the first international jerseys of Caelan and Dave hang proudly on the wall. It promises to be a great night here and I can only imagine the excitement when Caelan leads out the team before the game."

The match between Ireland and New Zealand takes place in The Aviva Stadium on Friday, November 8 at 8.10pm.
