Kilkelly father and son Jimmy and Declan Kilkenny with their dog 'Donnies Wood' who won in Galway recently.
KILKELLY father and son duo, Jimmy and Declan Kilkenny, had cause for celebration when their dog, Donnies Wood, ran a fine race to land the top prize in the A-4 Dual-Distance final at Galway Greyhound Stadium.
Donnies Wood made all the running and was going well at the first bend before the extending the lead out to four lengths at the halfway stage ahead of Annaghdown Loki and Ballygibbon Cash. Despite a solid finish by Annaghdown Loki, Donnies Wood held on to win by three lengths and the trophy was bound for Mayo.
The Kilkenny family have strong associations with the greyhound scene over the years and this was another well earned win for the Kilkelly ‘stables.’
