AUDIO Football Podcast #30: New Mayo manager in days not weeks; Club championship semi-finals previewed
Host Rob Murphy and this week's guest Mike Finnerty discuss all the latest from Tuesday night’s Mayo GAA Board meeting, where a committee was formed to select the next Mayo manager. The five man committee – James Waldron, JP Lambe, PΡdraic Walsh, Denis O’Boyle and Garrymore’s John Farragher – will interview the four remaining candidates, James Horan, John Maughan, Tommy Lyons and Anthony McGarry in the next few days. It is hoped that a decision will be made by next week.
In part 2 of this week's podcast Rob and Mike look ahead to this weekend's senior county championship semi-finals as Knockmore take on Castlebar Mitchels and Ballintubber face Shrule/Glencorrib. The Intermediate semi-finals clashes of Tourmakeady against Belmullet and Burrishoole against Kiltimagh are also previewed.
Finally this week a special feature on Garrymore football as Mike Finnerty caught up with their victorious Under-21 captain Trevor Nally minutes after his side captured their first ever U-21 title when they defeated Ballinrobe in the the ‘B’ Final last weekend.
