There were celebrations in Erris on Friday night when Dundalk were crowned First Division champions in the League of Ireland.

Mayo man, Ronan Murray, is Strength and Conditioning coach with the men in white and celebrated joyously after the Lilywhites secured promotion back to the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division with a 3-0 win against Finn Harps at Oriel Park.

Goals from Gbemi Arubi, Daryl Horgan, and Vinnie Leonard were enough to clinch the First Division title for Ciarán Kilduff's side on a memorable evening, and the Belmullet man was in the midst of it all.

Murray previously played with Dundalk as well as Ipswich, Torquay, Swindon, Plymouth, and Notts County in England, while also having had stints in Ireland with Galway United, Sligo Rovers, and Drogheda.

Murray has also played GAA with Belmullet over the past few years and picked off some classy scores for the men in red.
