It was a proud day for the Mayo relations of John Joe Patrick Finn, as the Reims midfielder made his senior international debut for Ireland this evening(Tuesday, June 10).
Patrick, aged just 21, has impressed thus far in his few senior appearances at both La Liga side Getafe and now for Samba Diawara’s Ligue 1 side.

Such performances have seen him rewarded with a call-up to represent Heimir Halgrimsson’s Boys in Green, and now, he has been given the chance to earn his maiden cap.
The Mayo ascendant was introduced from the bench in the 90th minute in the goalless draw against Luxembourg at the Stade de Luxembourg, and put in a decent showing in the few minutes he was given in his first outing.
Now, Patrick will be hoping he’ll be able to build on tonight’s showing and stake his claim for a place in the squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
