A great opportunity for Mayo soccer coaches this weekend: 'The Eric Steele Goalkeeping Masterclass', a workshop organised by Partry native Derek O'Sullivan, is coming up.

Coaches will get valuable insights from former Manchester United goalkeeping coach Eric Steele. The workshop also includes a video presentation from Sir Alex Ferguson.

There are still places for coaches up for grabs: If you want to participate in the course on Friday, October 18, find all you need to sign up here.

The program: On Friday, October 18, all types of outfield coaches come in for a presentation and will go down to the football pitches afterwards. There will be two practical sessions back to back, then one more presentation, the video presentation by Alex Ferguson, and to round it up a Q & A with Eric Steele.

Saturday, October 19, will see pre-registered goalkeepers getting practical training sessions (no slots available any more). The focus lies on goalkeeping coaching. The players age ranges from 10-17, all goalkeepers from the Northwest of Ireland. The coaches participating Friday will be invited to observe and ask questions during the Saturday sessions.

It's a great opportunity for coaches and goalkeepers alike, to get access to a coach of a stature like Eric Steele, who has worked with David de Gea and Kasper Schmeichel, an dis still involved with the England set-up. This is the first time a coaching workshop involving goalkeepers at this magnitude has been hosted in the West of Ireland.
