Across last weekend, Mayo handballers enjoyed plenty of success in the Connacht finals as Mayo accounted for ten Connacht titles.

In the main event of the weekend, Claremorris native Niall Joyce was crowned intermediate champion after he defeated Galway’s Seamus Conneely who was the winner of the junior doubles title last year. In the end, Joyce was victorious in dominant circumstances as he won 21-9 and 21-0.

In the junior final, Claremorris’ Paddy Murphy overcame Galway's Oisin O’Culáin. In a competitive and close affair, Murphy came out on top 21-18 and 21-17.

Sean Nevin and Feidhlim Guilfoyle (U-16 doubles), Ciaran Cuddy (over 35), Vinnie Moran (over 45), Martin Kelly (over 55B), Johnny Coyne (over 55), Joe Cummins (over 60B), Tom McCormack (over 60) and Ciara Hallinan (U-17) also claimed Connacht titles as Mayo players enjoyed a successful weekend.

Next up are the All Ireland semi finals which will take place on the weekend of March 7/8 where the Mayo representation will face off against Leinster opposition in Croke Park.
