The National Ploughing Championships have issued a reminder to anyone intending to visit the event to take note of how and where to purchase tickets.
The National Ploughing Championships 2024 kicks off in Ratheniska, County Laois today and thousands are expected to flock the show. The hugely popular agricultural show attracts an average of 80,000 people per day.
To ensure you don't miss out, people are advised to pre-purchase tickets online to guarantee entry on the day of their choice on the National Ploughing Championships website.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate, but only if the event is not sold out. It is worth noting that tickets purchased at the gate will cost you slightly more, at €30 for an adult ticket. When buying online, an adult ticket will cost €25 in comparison.

Tickets for senior citizens and secondary school students cost €20, while children under 12 go free.
Campervan Site parking bays must be pre-booked online. There is a flat rate for the parking bay of €60 which entitles you to stay up to 5 nights (Sun 15 September – Fri 20 September). There is no rate per night available.
People are reminded that tickets are day specific and so visitors must attend the event on the day their ticket is purchased for. The National Ploughing Championship can only guarantee entry for the day stated on the ticket.
The pre-purchased tickets must be scanned on entry to the event and so it is advised that visitors print their ticket or take a screenshot of their ticket barcode on their phones to avoid any delays at the gate.
People should allow time for queuing when arriving to the event, however having pre-purchased tickets should speed up entry to the site.
So to ensure your entry to the event, purchasing tickets online is advised to avoid disappointment.
