The man was arrested at around 9am this morning, and is currently in custody in a Dublin city centre garda station.

A man has been arrested following an incident of alleged threatening behaviour in Dublin City Centre on Tuesday morning.

It is understood the incident occurred outside a school in the Parnell Square area, and it is believed a knife was used in the incident.

The incident occurred at around 9am this morning.

He is currently in custody in a Dublin city centre garda station.

Gardaí say he has arrested for alleged offences under the Firearms and Offences Weapons Act.

While there are no injuries reported, gardaí said they had been conducting regular patrols in this area and these patrols will continue.

Gardaí have said that they are liaising with the local community and anyone impacted by the incident.
