Man charged over 'hit and run' incident which left young woman with serious injuries

GARDAI investigating a 'hit and run' incident in Dublin more than two years ago have charged a man.

A woman, aged in her 20s, sustained serious injuries when she was struck by a motorcycle at  Priorswood Road in Dublin on October 25 2021.

At the time, gardai gardai confirmed that the pedestrian was taken to Beaumont Hospital where she was treated for serious injuries, including several broken broken.

The driver of the motorcycle failed to remain at the scene.

In an update, issued this Wednesday morning, garda confirmed that a man has now been arrested and charged.

"Gardaí have charged a man, aged in his 20s, in relation to a serious road traffic collision that occurred on the Priorswood Road in Dublin 17 on Sunday, October 25 2021," said a spokesperson.

The man is due to appear before Swords District Court later.
