The loved ones of a Louth woman who died in a crash in Australia are seeking help to repatriate her body to Ireland.
Carol Early from Drogheda died in a two-vehicle traffic crash on the afternoon of September 30 in Priestdale, Queensland.
According to Queensland Police Service, a sedan collided with a utility vehicle on the roundabout at Priestdale Road and both vehicles then hit a power pole before bursting into flames.
Ms Early, who was a passenger in the utility, died at the scene.
The two male drivers were taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigations are continuing in Queensland.
A fundraiser has been launched on behalf of Carol's husband, Tony Buckley, to raise money to return Carol's remains to Ireland.
A statement on the Go Fund Me fundraising page states: "We are fund raising for Tony Buckley, husband to his beloved wife Carol. Tony and Carol had gone about making themselves a new life in Australia when they were involved in a fatal car crash at Priestdale in Brisbane on Saturday the 30th of september.
"Their car was struck by another vehicle at speed, pinning it against a power pole. Tony is now faced with the costs of the funeral and returning Carol to her native soil of Ireland. Please help us help Tony take Carol’s remains home."
The campaign has raised over $30,000 so far.
