Tips and advice ahead of the last meeting of the year at Ballinrobe Races

Punters advised to arrive early at the track with traffic set to be heavy in and around Ballinrobe town

Tips and advice ahead of the last meeting of the year at Ballinrobe Races

Ballinrobe won the racecourse of the year earlier this year.

It's been another hugely successful year at Ballinrobe Racecourse and the last of the ten meetings of the 2024 season takes place this afternoon, with the first race due off at 3.25pm.

The gates open at 1.30pm and the advice from the course is for patrons to leave plenty of time to get to the track, with traffic around the course, especially through Ballinrobe town itself, expected to be heavy from early afternoon onwards.

There is a very competitive eight race card at Mayo's only racecourse this afternoon and our own Michael Duffy, who will be on duty in the parade ring, thinks these choices should run well. Best of luck to everyone who is going racing in Ballinrobe today:

3.25: Ceol Draiochta

4.00: Arctic Piper

4.35: Hypersonic Missile

5.10: Folly Beach

5.45: A Penny Hundred

6.15: Joe's Turn (nap)

6.50: Erigmoor

7.25: Jerry from Kerry
