Mayo library to screen Eanna Hardwicke World Cup film

The film will be shown this evening in Ballinrobe Library.

Robe Cinema is set to screen 'Saipan', the Roy Keane/Mick McCarthy dramatic World Cup story, at Ballinrobe Library this evening Friday, February 20. Doors will open at 7.30 pm with the film commencing at 8pm sharp. 

Featuring Eanna Hardwicke and Steve Coogan, the 90-minute production will focus on the eve of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, when Irish captain Roy Keane forfeits his place in the squad at the team’s preparation base in Saipan, following a heated disagreement with the Irish manager Mick McCarthy.

The film was directed by Lisa Barros D’Sa and Glenn Leyburn. It will feature Éanna Hardwicke, Steve Coogan, Alice Lowe, and Harriet Cains.
