The Post Office is set to reopen on Monday May 26th
An Post have confirmed their plan to amalgamate its delivery offices in Ballyhaunis and Castlerea on a shared campus in Castlerea.
The move will go ahead as planned in second quarter of 2026 and is in line with An Post’s national transformation strategy, agreed with the Communications Workers Union (CWU).
An Post commented: "The amalgamation of Ballyhaunis and Castlerea represents an opportunity to plan and organise this important piece of local infrastructure to reflect the changing nature of our business including the huge growth of parcels and the rise in ecommerce and home shopping."
