Mayo students receive prestigious awards from Trinity College Dublin

Twelve students from Mayo were among 593 students who were awarded the prestigious Entrance Exhibition Awards for the 2024/5 academic year from Trinity College Dublin.  

The awards go to students accepted into the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree programme who achieved above a minimum of 500 CAO points (or equivalent) from their secondary school.

The twelve Mayo recipients each represented 12 different schools in the county. 

The students come from 452 different schools in 30 different counties and 38 countries overseas.   

The awards were delivered at three ceremonies at Trinity’s Old Dining Hall, to which the students and their school principals were invited. 

The awardees receive a certificate and a €150 book token.

The Entrance Exhibition Awards were awarded to 372 students from Leinster (236 from Dublin), 84 from Munster, 51 from Connacht, 40 from Ulster and 45 overseas students. 

The Mayo students’ names are as follows: Niall Murphy (St Muredachs College), Isabelle Maureen Bourke (St Mary’s Secondary School), Aodhán Hughes (St Gerald’s College), Julianna Aitken (St Joseph’s Secondary School), Zara Daly (Jesus & Mary Secondary School), Bevin Maloney (St Joseph’s College), Aaron Flynn (Sancta Maria College), Fionn Ó Ruain (Rice College), Hayden Murphy (Coláiste Chomain), Jack Delaney (Ballyhaunis Community School), Iarla Moran (Ballinrobe Community School), Abdelkader Al Swidani (St Louis Community School). 

Awardees receive a certificate and a €150 book token.
