The median asking price for a property in Mayo now stands at €195,000
THE median asking price for a property in Mayo has risen by €5,000 in the past year. The average price of a property in the county in Quarter 4 of 2024 stood at €195,000, a figure well below the national median asking price of €356,000.
According to the latest MyHome Property Price Report, asking prices for a 3-bed semi-detached house in the county rose by €1,500 over the quarter to €175,000. This means that prices in the segment have risen by €6,000 compared to this time last year.
Meanwhile, the asking price for a 4-bed semi-detached house in Mayo decreased by €5,500 over the quarter to €229,500 - an increase of €7,000 compared to this time last year. The median asking price for a two-bedroom apart in Mayo, meanwhile, stood at €175,000.
Mayo was the second-cheapest county in Connacht in which to buy a three-bedroom semi-detached house, ahead of Roscommon which stood at €162,500. Co Galway still has the dearest median house prices in Connacht - a figure inflated by house prices in the city - where the price of a three-bedroom semi-detached house stood at €309,000.
There were 448 properties for sale in Mayo at the end of Quarter 4 2024 – a decrease of 8 percent over the quarter.
The average time for a property to go to sale agreed in Mayo after being placed up for sale now stands at nearly four months.
