The pair will run five kilometres everyday as part of the challenge
Two Mayo men are taking on a challenge for Men’s Mental Health Month.
Cormac Muarry and James O’Donnell will run five kilometres every day this November in honour of Men’s Mental Health Month and to raise awareness and support for Mindspace Mayo.
Mindspace Mayo provides ‘vital’ mental health services to young people in the county.
“Every donation, big or small, goes directly to Mindspace Mayo to help them continue their incredible work. Link to donate is in our bio. Let’s go the distance together for men’s mental health,” wrote Mr O’Donnell on Facebook.
CLG Béal an Mhuirthead praised the pair in a Facebook post: “Huge shoutout to James and Cormac, who are taking on the incredible challenge of running 5K every day this November to raise awareness and funds for Mindspace and youth mental health! These two are going the extra mile for Mindspace Mayo and showing us all how powerful community support can be.”
Every donation through their fundraiser goes directly to supporting Mindspace Mayo’s outreach service in Erris, which has supported over 300 young people and families in the area to-date.
Mindspace Mayo has called on the local community to show their support to the men by cheering them on and help them reach their goal by donating.
Donations can be made via the fundraisers GoFundMe page.
