Mac Allister joined in on Foxford's Argentina Day celebrations
World cup winner and Liverpool football star, Alexis Mac Allister, joined in on Foxford’s Argentina Day celebrations.
The footballer signed a jersey to be sent to Foxford on Saturday, and in a video shared on social media, the Liverpool midfielder let the town know that the shirt was on its way to the town.
Argentina Day was celebrated in the Mayo town on Saturday, with the event marking the two-hundred-and-forty-seventh anniversary of the birth of Foxford native and founder of the Argentine navy, Admiral William Brown.
The links between the South American country and Mayo town have been fostered for many decades by the Admiral Brown Society.
The day of celebrations was a combined effort by the Argentine Embassy in Ireland, The Admiral Brown Society and Mayo County Council.
