Bressie to bring award-winning podcast to Mayo

Tickets for the live podcast are onsale now

Podcast host and singer, Niall ‘Bressie’ Breslin, spoke to The Mayo News following the announcement of a live show for his ‘Where is My Mind?’ podcast in Mayo this October.

Since beginning in 2019, the podcast has won numerous awards, including Best Interview Podcast at the 2023 Irish Podcast Awards 2023.

The podcast centres around mindfulness, something the ex-Blizzards frontman has strongly advocated for.

“I had enough of pretending that everything was all right all the time, and in my own case, I went through a particularly difficult period, and about 13 years ago I decided to address what I had gone through.

“I just had enough, that was it really, and I wanted to see what I could do, at the time I was on ‘The Voice’ and I had a bit of a platform to talk about it,” Niall explained.

With live podcasting becoming ‘competitive’, Breslin said, ‘you have to put on a show’.

“I tell my life story through different pieces of music that I would have composed or played. I don't take myself massively seriously at times, but then there are deeply emotional moments.”

Looking ahead to his upcoming performances, the award-winning podcast host said audiences can expect ‘everything they don't think they're going to expect’.

“It's an enjoyable show, I've had 14-year-olds at the show, I've had 90-year-olds, and they all got the same thing from us, they felt like they were in a sitting room with me, and I'm pretty proud of that, because that's what I tried to create.”

He concluded: “I think that the TF is a great venue for it, I played the TF a good few times, so yeah, I'm looking forward to it!”

Tickets for ‘Where is my mind?’ live at the TF Royal are on sale now from €32.65 on Ticketmaster.
