The Harbour Meitheal Festival takes place on beautiful Inishturk this coming Saturday.

The Harbour Meitheal Festival is not just an event; it's a celebration of the timeless values that have sustained this island for generations. Picture this: old sheds getting a fresh coat of paint and flowers blooming where once was bare.
A spokesperson for the organising committee said: “The Meitheal spirit runs deep in Inishturk. It's about neighbours lending a hand, sharing a laugh, and getting the job done together. And as we gather for this event, we're not just revitalising the harbour; we're revitalising our sense of pride and purpose.
“It's a reminder that no matter where life takes us, Inishturk Island will always be home. Looking ahead, the vision for the festival is as bright as the sun dancing on the waves. With the support of Mayo County Council, Fáilte Ireland, and the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Harbour Meitheal event is poised to become a beacon of cultural exchange, welcoming visitors as it paves the way for a season full of events.”
