Two people arrested in connection with burglaries in Ballinrobe shops

TWO people are in custody in connection with burglaries which occurred in two shops in Ballinrobe, The Mayo News has learned. 

The individuals are currently being detained in relation to the theft of a quantity of alcohol and cigarettes from Cummins Supervalu on Wednesday night following a break-in. 

They were arrested at another retail premises in the town following another burglary in the early hours of this morning (Friday). 

A garda source said the individuals are being questioned by gardaí in relation to the break-ins. 

It has not been confirmed if the two incidents are connected. 

No further information is available at this time.
