Mayo location makes list of Ireland's most haunted places

The 1700's house made fourth on the list

The top-rated haunted spots in Ireland have been revealed, with a Mayo location coming in at number four.

Moore Hall, which is located on the shores of Lough Carra near the village of Carnacon, was named the fourth-spookiest spot in Ireland.

This comes after ghost hunters have been trying to catch spirits at the haunted establishment for decades, as well as reports of ghostly laughter and energy lurking around the corners.

Moore Hall, or Moorehall, was the house and estate of George Henry Moore and his family. Built in the 1700s, it’s situated south of the village Carnacon, in a karst limestone landscape.

Betfair Casino generated the list of the ghost ridden locations, with the popularity of each location measured by a unique index score based on Instagram views and Trip Advisor rankings.

Malahide Castle, Dublin, and Castle Leslie, Monaghan, came on top as the most popular haunted spots.

Malahide Castle is known to have at least five ghosts make appearances over the years, with one resident, ‘White Lady’ known to wander through the Castle’s grounds at night.
