Irish pianist and composer David Vesey is set to perform “Carolan Reimagined”, a solo piano concert inspired by his acclaimed album Carolan Reflections in Castlebar on Thursday March, 26 at 8 pm. The concert is set to take place at the Linenhall Arts Centre.
Carlan Reflections, written, arranged, and performed by Vesey, is a reimagining of the timeless works of Turlough O’Carolan, Ireland’s most celebrated harpist-composer of the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Vesey’s music blends classical piano with traditional Irish influences.

“His music bridges the gap between the Irish traditional and classical worlds. The harp, Carolan’s instrument, shares many similarities with the piano, and through the piano, I aim to continue a tradition started by figures like Seán Ó Riada and Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin, who brought Carolan’s music into new realms.” David said.
“I feel privileged to share my arrangements of Carolan’s music,” Vesey said.
“These reflections are personal in nature, representing my relationship with Carolan as a composer and also broader reflections on Irish identity. I hope these arrangements will bring Carolan's music to new audiences and continue his legacy in a modern context,” he added.
Tickets are available online for €15, €7.50 for U18s.
