A full moon is set to appear on November 15
Knockranny House Hotel in Westport is offering a unique moonlit walking weekend during November’s full moon.
The Mayo Full Moon Walking Weekend takes place over the upcoming full moon weekend of November 15 and 16.
Experience the magic of walking by moonlight, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life, as part of an upcoming guided walking weekend at the four-star hotel in Westport.
Walking in nature ‘by the light of the silvery moon’ is something few people get to try, yet is a truly unforgettable sensory experience.
The weekend at Knockranny includes a guided daytime walk on Saturday, dinner in The Fern Grill followed by stories and magic by candlelight, and a moonlit walk after hours.
This atmospheric guided walk will take place on forest or off-road tracks, lit by the ‘Supermoon’ above, appearing slightly larger and brighter in the sky than a regular full moon.
Saturday’s daylight walk will be reasonably challenging, taking in many historical features with truly spectacular scenery, all on a great walking surface and with expert local knowledge on hand. Led by local Terra Firma guides, taking you off the beaten track to explore the Wild Atlantic coastline, where guests stop for a picnic lunch, perfect for taking in the sweeping views.
Knockranny House Hotel is a cosy and luxurious setting to return to after a day’s adventures.
The pool, sauna and steam room in the gorgeous Spa Salveo at Knockranny is something to look forward to in the evening too, with experienced therapists available to work any soreness or tightness out of muscles you may have forgotten you had.
The Mayo Full Moon Walking Weekend at Knockranny House Hotel includes two nights accommodation with breakfast, dinner in The Fern Grill on one evening, a guided walk with packed lunch and transport, and a moonlit walk.
Guests are advised to pack good footwear and waterproof, warm clothing.
Prices start from €355pp based on two sharing in a classic room.
