Mayo County Council are delighted to announce that the world-renowned Ashford Castle has come on board as a partner in their Home to Mayo competition.
The winner of the competition will now, courtesy of Ashford Castle, have an afternoon of luxury and elegance in Ireland’s first Forbes Five Star Hotel where they will enjoy their world-famous Lord and Lady Ardilaun’s Afternoon Tea for Two in the Connaught Room of the hotel.
The Afternoon Tea menu offers a delightful selection of speciality teas, delicate finger sandwiches with traditional fillings, warm scones, and handmade pastries.
The beautifully appointed Connaught Room is flanked with floor to ceiling windows commanding spectacular views of the Castle’s manicured gardens and the magnificent Lough Corrib.
Regina O’Donoghue, Director of Marketing and Revenue for Ashford Castle spoke about their delight at linking up with Mayo County Council and the Home to Mayo Competition saying: “We are delighted to support Mayo Day on its 10th anniversary – it is wonderful to have an annual day that celebrates Mayo's rich heritage, vibrant culture, and strong community spirit.”
Ashford Castle is just the latest partner to join up with Mayo County Council for this competition, which will see the winner and their guest be flown home to Mayo from anywhere in the world to celebrate Mayo Day’s tenth anniversary next year.
Along with the flights home and the Afternoon Tea in Ashford Castle, My Irish Cousin is also offering the winner of the competition free car hire for two weeks during their trip to Mayo.
The Home to Mayo Competition, which was launched at the Milwaukee Irish Fest in August, has seen phenomenal interest from right across the globe already with entries coming from as far-flung places as Vietnam, South Africa, and Brazil, along with Irish emigrant hot spots like the USA and Australia.
Mayo Day is the annual celebration of all things Mayo and Mayo County Council are thrilled to announce its milestone tenth-anniversary celebration will be taking place in May 2024.
