Mayo driver who drove at twice the speed limit tests positive for cocaine

A driver in Mayo who was detected driving at twice the speed limit near Swinford has been charged with dangerous driving.

The Garda Siochana X (formerly Twitter) account revealed details today from a speed checkpoint which was in operation on the N5 near Swinford on Wednesday evening. An Audi car was detected travelling at 198km/h in a 100km/h zone. After a roadside test, the driver tested positive for cocaine. He was arrested and charged with dangerous driving.
