Sr Michelle Gorman, RSM, of Catford, Clogher, Claremorris and Auburn, California recently celebrated her Golden Jubilee as a Sister of Mercy.
Sr Michelle (Mary) is daughter of the late James and Margaret Gorman of Catford and sister of Breege Blake, Catford. During her over 50 years of dedicated service with the Sisters of Mercy, Sr Michelle has worked in various ministries’ including education, new membership and leadership, spiritual direction and retreat work. She currently works as an Institute Minister assisting with leadership and the spiritual guidance of the community. She also serves as Chaplain in the California State Senate in Sacramento.
Sr Michelle was joined by her sister Breege, her community and a wide circle of friends and associates for her Golden Jubilee celebration at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Auburn, California. The Presider was Reverend Daniel Looney, a native of Killarney, who has ministered in California for many years. Among the hymns that were sung at Mass were Ag Críost an Síol and Our Lady of Knock. Sr Michelle is wished many more years of good health, happiness and dedication.
