Gardaí yesterday (Sunday) detected a motorist driving at 100kph over the speed limit on a Mayo road.
The Gardaí tweeted this afternoon that their Roads Policing Unit detected this vehicle travelling on the N17 yesterday at 217 kph, which is 117 kph over the 100kph limit. They also stated that the driver was arrested and charged by Gardaí for dangerous driving and will now be prosecuted in court at a later date. The Gardaí issued the image below with their Tweet.
