Participants at the Westport Library Climate Action Plan public engagement event held recently.
Mayo County Council would like to hear from the public to help create the first ever Climate Action Plan for the county. This public engagement process will inform how Mayo transitions to a low carbon, climate resilient and biodiversity rich county.
The Mayo County Council Climate Action Team have held public meetings over the past few weeks in Ballina, Swinford, Castlebar and Westport where they discussed how Climate Change is impacting our communities and how to reduce Mayo’s greenhouse gas emissions.
The deadline for public submissions on the plan has been extended out to Sunday, August 27 and the Mayo County Council Climate Action Team want to have as many members of the public as possible to have their say on this topic.
Members of the public can make submissions on www.mayo.ie/environment/climate-action-plan before August 27.
Hard copies of the Climate Action Plan survey are available in all libraries. Businesses are also encouraged to have their say using the specific Climate Action survey for Enterprise.
