Our competition to find Mayo's number 1 supporter ahead of tomorrow's semi-final was won by this passionate young fan
Congratulations to Mayo-mad Shane Lynott!
Shane’s mum Colleen sent us the following email, outlining her son’s enormous passion for the Mayo team. Out of the huge amount of brilliant entries – many of which were hilarious – this one was chosen in honour of this little man's dedication and evangelical enthusiasm. It's the stuff Mayo fans are made of.
Shane Lynott is an eleven year old who lives in London and has not missed a Mayo Match in two years now. He lives for Mayo and talks about them to his English school friends – so much so, he begged me to take all the boys in his class (15) to the Mayo v Derry match in MacHale Park in June this year.
I did. What a game, it had it all to show the English boys. They loved every minute, so much so we have set up our own team in London U-12, and we have won our first eight games.
You now have 15 extra Mayo Fans in this world.
Thank you,
Colleen Lynott
A Mayo jersey, a Mayo News Club Stars jersey and a year’s subscription to the digital edition of The Mayo News are on their way to Shane!
