A Ballina man has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing the death of a motorcyclist near Ballina in May 2016

A BALLINA man has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing the death of a motorcyclist near Ballina in May 2016.
Declan Moran of Carrentrilla, Ballina, appeared before last week’s sitting of Castlebar Circuit Criminal Court where he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing the death of motorcyclist Martin Wynne from Crossmolina.
The accident took place on the afternoon of Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Ballinahaglish, Ballina, on the N26 Ballina to Foxford road.
Mr Moran also pleaded guilty to two further charges relating to the same accident: failing to report an accident and failing to remain at the scene.
Judge Rory McCabe remanded Mr Moran was on bail to appear before Castlebar Circuit Criminal Court this morning (Tuesday) to fix a date for sentencing.
