SHE may not approve of fornication, but there was certainly something saucy about Senator Michelle Mulherin’s lip-syncing of Shania Twain’s ‘Man! I feel like a Woman’ at a recent Ballina Rugby Club fundraiser.
Well, it is not surprising that all the hot air spewed around the Houses of the Oireachtas would make a girl ‘wanna scream and shout’ and ‘let it all hang out’, even ‘get a little outta line’. So, the Ballina chanteuse decided there was no way she was ‘gonna act politically correct’ when she donned her thigh-high boots and mini skirt and give Shania Twain a run for her money at the recent Ballina Rugby Club’s sell-out Strictly Lip Sync contest for charity in the Great National Hotel.
Nobody was prepared to go on the record as to whether any of the men in the audience fainted or needed smelling salts when Mz Mulherin ripped off her shirt at the end of the raunchy rendition and showed off a black bustier. Turns out, she was the class act of the night (to borrow a phrase) pipping political opponent Deputy Dara Calleary (aka AC/DC’s Angus Young) to the post as the overall winner.
Rumours are that the senator could be shakin’ her booty on Dancing with the Stars next. Brace yourselves.
