President Michael D Higgins will perform the official opening of the new Claremorris Family Centre on Saturday, October 18 at 3pm. It will be a homecoming in many ways for his wife Sabina, formerly Coyne from Cloonraine, Ballindine, who has many relations in the Claremorris area
Nuala Gilligan and all the team at the Family Resource Centre are delighted that the President is gracing their special occasion. “We were thrilled when President Michael D Higgins confirmed that he would preside at the opening ceremony. It is a great honour for us to welcome him and his wife Sabina to our big day. Everyone at the Centre is looking forward to the big occasion,” says Nuala.
The Claremorris Family Resource centre re-located from James Street to their new premises on Mount Street back in March.  The re-location of the new centre was made possible by funding assistance from the South West Mayo Development Company limited, Child and Family Support Agency, Department of Health, National Lottery funding and fundraising initiatives.
This event is open to all in the community of Claremorris and surrounding areas. “We are very proud of the newly refurbished Family Resource Centre on Mount Street and would be delighted to see as many people as possible from the community to come along and celebrate this special occasion with us,”  says SeΡn Gallagher, chairperson of the management committee.

The official opening ceremonies will commence at 2pm and continue to 5pm. Contact the centre on 094 9377838 for further details.
