THE winning streak continues for Mayo as two lucky EuroMillions winners travelled to Lotto HQ last Tuesday to collect their winnings.
First in to collect his cheque was the lucky winner of €315, 673 in the EuroMillions draw on May 6.
The regular lottery player who picked his own numbers in Martin Murphy’s Day-Today News in Ballinrobe said ‘this is plenty for me’. The winner who wishes to remain anonymous said he never dreamed of sitting at the National Lottery buildings collecting ‘a big cheque’, adding that he was ‘over the moon’.
Shop owner Martin Murphy said he was delighted that the cheque was collected and wished the winner health and happiness.
A second lucky Mayo native who wishes to remain anonymous also collected her winnings, a cool €69,548, on Tuesday last. She bought her €6 Quick Pick in Costcutters in Balla for the May 9 draw, matching five numbers to win the prize.
“I’m delighted with this win. And this summer I’m definitely making my dream come true by going scuba diving at the Barrier Reef,” said the winner.
Owner of Costcutters, Balla, Peter Gaughan said he was delighted that someone in the locality won the prize and wished her well.
“It’s great to hear a good news story,” added Mr Gaughan.
