Snowy weather in UK forces Knock cancellations

Passengers flying from Knock to London Standsted and to East Midlands airports were left stranded after heavy snow in England forced the cancellation of the two flights on Monday.
The heavy snow in Britain has wreaked transportation havoc, with a number of airports forced to cancel flights over the weekend.
Yesterday (Monday), Ryanair’s inbound and outbound flights between Ireland West Airport Knock and East Midlands and Stansted were cancelled as a result of the heavy snow. The Flybe flight from Manchester to Knock was delayed for over two hours and the Aer Lingus flights from Birmingham and London Gatwick were also delayed.
Passengers planning to travel in and out of the UK are advised to check with the airline before travelling to the airport.
Mayo has by and large escaped the worst of the cold weather conditions which have affected the UK, parts of Munster and the east of the country. Apart from a few isolated wintry showers, Mayo is expected to escape heavy snowfall in the days ahead. However, it is expected to remain cold with the highest temperatures ranging from 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. Night time temperatures are predicted to drop to between zero and -3 degrees in some parts.
