Westport hotel enters receivership

WESTPORT’S Carlton Atlantic Coast Hotel has gone into receivership. However, the hotel remains fully open for business, with no interruption to trade, and all customer deposits, bookings, memberships and vouchers will be honoured. Significantly, all of the management and staff will continue to be employed in the hotel.
The news came last week as Stephan Tennant and Paul McCann of Grant Thornton were appointed joint receivers over the property on October 8.
The hotel trades under the name of The Carlton Group and BDL Ireland has been appointed as the management company for the property. BDL Ireland is associated with BDL UK, the UK’s largest multi-brand and hotel management company.
The Atlantic Coast Hotel first opened its doors on Westport’s Harbourside in 1999.
