Minister Alan Dillon brings family to polling station as Mayo goes to the polls

MAYO TD and Minister of State for Housing Alan Dillon brought his family with him to his local polling station today to cast his vote in the 2024 general election. 

The Fine Gael TD brought his wife Ashling, and their two young sons, Shay (4) and Calum (3), to the polling station as he joined thousands of Mayo people who will cast their votes in today's election. 

A total of sixteen candidates are on the ballot paper in Mayo. Polls opened at 7am this morning and will close at 10pm this evening. 

No figures on voter turnout in Mayo have yet been reported. 

The Mayo News will bring you updates on voter turnout throughout today and our reporters will be reporting live from the Count Centre at the TF Royal Theatre in Castlebar from 9am tomorrow morning. A live blog reporting all the day's event will also begin tomorrow morning on our wbesite at 9am.
