CONOR LOFTUS IS BACK

Some players are still fighting their way back to match fitness, and might need a few weeks to be ready for championship football.

It's well known what Diarmuid O'Connor and Paddy Durcan are capable of when they're firing on all cylinders, but currently they are still finding their feet after long absences.

However, Conor Loftus had an impressive return. He came in and was ready to take the Donegal players straight on, finding angles, creating scoring opportunities.

It was his first match for Mayo since the 2024 championship exit in a penalty shoot-out at the hands of Derry.

The Crossmolina man was in fine form in last year's senior club championship and he made a strong case for himself to get plenty of game-time in the upcoming matches.
