It has been confirmed that Moygownagh will return to the Mayo GAA Junior Club Championship for 2026.
The North Mayo side, who were absent from the 2025 edition of the race for the Pete McDonnell Cup, are also set to enter a side in the restructured versions of the club leagues.

It marks a welcome return to senior football for the side, who will be aiming to carry the flame having last featured in 2024.
Due to their return, there has been a slight restructuring of the Junior Championship. Last season, the group stages consisted of Group One, which featured five sides, and Groups Two and Three, which featured four.
This time out, another side will be added to Group Two, bringing the total number of sides in the competition to 14.
In 2025, three sides automatically qualified for the quarter-finals from Group One, while two qualified from Groups Two and Three. The best-performing third-placed teams would advance to the last-eight as well.
At present, it is unclear how teams will qualify for the quarter-finals this year.
