Mayo GAA has announced, that it invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced Architect/Engineer-led Design Teams for the proposed development of a State of the Art, Centre of Excellence in Bohola.
A statement reads: "The successful team will be appointed to provide multi-disciplinary design services up to and including the submission of a Planning Application, encompassing all required architectural, engineering, planning, and coordination works.
EOI’s are to be carried out in accordance with the below document link and returned no later than 12pm on Friday 23rd January 2026. All relevant documents are to be emailed to projectlead.boholacoe.mayo@gaa.ie."
The Bohola site is anticipated to be the central training hub for county teams, with multiple pitches, a stand, and a clubhouse.
When the question of precise costs for the project were brought up at a recent county board meeting, Mayo GAA Vice-Chairman Michael Diskin said there was “no real good estimate of what the cost will be. It's going to be substantial,” he stated.
When asked where the previously floated figure of €15 million came from, he replied, saying that sum was a ‘loosely put together estimate.’
Mayo GAA are also currently looking to fill the full-time position of Chief Executive Officer.
