Yesterday afternoon (Monday December 8) saw one Mayo school claim provincial glory in the Connacht Centre of Excellence in Bekan.
In an exceptional and thrilling game of football, the students from Sacred Heart School in Westport claimed the spoils in the U-16 Connacht A Final.
The Westport based students overcame Coláiste Bhaile Chláir of Galway by five points in what turned out to be a hugely exciting clash, however when the full time whistle sounded it was the Mayo girls who celebrated.
After conquering all of Connacht, next up for the Sacred Heart girls will be an All Ireland Semi Final which will take place in February.
