Westport's Rosin Scott stands between the posts. The renowned shot-stopper had a wonderful season in the blue and navy. The full-back line is packed with star quality. Saoirse Lally and Janette O'Malley were outstanding as Westport powered their way to their first county title while Ciara Durkan had a wonderful season in the saffron and blue of Knockmore.
The half-back line is made up of three players who mix defence and attack like very fw others. Nina McVann caught the eye every time she put on the Knockmore jersey. Danielle Caldwell marshalled the Castlebar back line as they powered to the intermediate title and Lilian Keane was spectacular at times as Aghamore grabbed junior glory.
Two outstanding players fill the midfield spots. Sarah Mulvihill and Aoifee Geraghty would hold their own with any combination on the island and they lit up the championship with some sparkling displays.
The half-forward line would torment even the greatest of defensive set-ups. Bree Hession established herself as one of the most exciting players in the county, and she gave some wonderful performances for Claremorris.
Fionnuala McLaughlin crated magic for Westport as they becmae the best team in Mayo while Lara Sweeney's ability to mix the brilliant with the unexpected set her apart.
Aoif Staunton is selected at the top of the right. The Westport woman is one of the best forwards in Mayo. Her ability to win ball and use it decisively was one of the many reasons her club tasted ultimate glory. Beside her is her clubmate Laura Moran. The full-forward led the line in brilliant fashion every time Westport went to war. She scored crucial goals and kicked a stream of points as the women from the shadow of The Reek won the senior title. The left corner-forward position is filled by one of Mayo football's finest-ever attackers. Lisa Cafferky is a joy to watch play football. Her ability to make space, win ball and kick scores has always been eye-catching and was even more pronounced this season in the green and gold of her beloved Kilmovee Shamrocks.
