MAYO will face Sligo in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Connacht Senior Football Championship.

The draw for the upcoming provincial championships has pitted Kevin McStay’s Mayo up against the Yeats men, with the winner meeting Leitrim in the semi-final.

On the other side of the draw, Galway will travel to the US to face New York while Roscommon will fly east to play London in their quarter-finals.

Mayo’s last Connacht championship meeting with Sligo ended in a comprehensive Mayo win when the sides played in front of a small crowd in Markievicz Park during Covid-19 restrictions on outdoor gatherings.

Sligo are managed by former Mayo selector and Crossmaglen manager Tony McEntee, who agreed a two-year deal to remain in situ last month.

Kevin McStay will manage Mayo for the upcoming season, but a number of changes are due to be made to his backroom team beforehand.

Sligo provided the opposition for McStay’s first game as Mayo manager when they faced off in a charity game in James Stephen’s Park in Ballina last year.
