Castlebar Mitchels sit on top of the Division 1A table after they went to Belmullet and defeated the home side 1-11 to 0-6 in Tallagh on Sunday morning. Mayo players Bob Tuohy and Rory Byrne were in the Castlebar starting team and with Ethan Gibbons kicking four points and Sean Morahan lashing home a goal the men in yellow and red were deserved winners.

Byrne came forward to knock over a '45 and Tuohy was replaced in the second half by John MacMonagle, who kicked a fine point himself.

Another Mayo player, Paul Towey, blazed a trail for Charlestown when they defeated Knockmore 4-12 to 1-17 in Fr O'Hara Park. The home side were two points clear at half-time, 2-5 to 0-9, after Towey blasted home a penalty and Paddy Lenehan also hit the net. At the other end, Aiden Orme was in great form for Knockmore with Caolan Hopkins also catching the eye in attack.

However, Towey made all the headlines in the second half with two more goals and his personal tally of 3-7 over the course of the game was an indication of the rich vein of form he's in as Mayo look towards the meeting with Roscommon the weekend after next.

Towey's inter-county team-mates Padraig O'Hora and Conor McStay lined out for Ballina Stephenites in Parke as the reigning county champions got the better of the home side on a 1-20 to 0-8 scoreline. The Moysiders turned in an excellent team display with numerous men in green and red catching the eye. Kevin Newell was impressive in attack as Luke Jordan, Ben Thornton, Stephen Mullins and Niall Feeney were among those who performed very impressively in the sunshine.

Davitts maintained their excellent start to the season with a hard-earned 2-16 to 3-9 win over Ballyhaunis. The men in black and red scored an impressive 2-8 in the second half to secure victory after Ballyhaunis began the match on the front foot. Goals from Aiden Sloyan and Kevin Byrne had the home side 2-4 to 0-8 clear at the break, but Davitts were just getting into tehir groove.

Jack Melvin drilled home a goal early in the new half for the guests and with Niall Treacy and Dylan Gallagher also kicking scores they were well in contention going into the last quarter.

However, with Sloyan kicking impressive points and Ciaran McDermott smashing home a goal, Ballyhaunis found themselves a point up in the closing stages, but Davitts would not be denied.

Liam Kearns continued his rich vein of form when he blasted home a crucial goal and Liam Nyland's squad powered to victory and second place in the league table.

In Division 1B, Garrymore sit top of the table with three wins from three. The men in red went to Bangor on Sunday and defeated Kiltane 1-19 to 2-8. Trevor Nally, Darren Quinn and Jamie Hession caught the eye for the guests while Josh Carey, Charlie Ginnelly, Ultan Corrigan and goalkeeper John McAndrew impressed for the Erris men.

Anothe team enjoying a run of form is Moy Davitts and they left Kilmeena with victory on Sunday. The Moysiders edged out the home side on a 1-13 to 0-14 scoreline and now sit third in the table.

Aghamore got their first league points of the year with a hard-earned 1-14 to 1-13 win against Mayo Gaels. Aghamore were 1-6 to 1-1 clear at the interval and while Gaels closed the gap significantly in the second half, the home side couldn't get back on terms before the end.
