RIP: 'A pure gentleman'- Young Mayo man 'died unexpectedly' as community in mourning

Tributes have poured in for a young man from Mayo who sadly died unexpectedly leaving his family and community devastated.

Matthew Vahey was from Claremorris in Mayo and sadly died on Sunday, July 6.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and loved Matthew, with one mourner writing,

"Deepest sympathy to Susan, John, Jack, James, Simon and Adam and all the extended Vahey and Lally families on the very sad passing of Matthew. A devastating loss for you all. May his gentle soul rest in peace."

Another message said: "To Matthew’s parents, siblings, family, and friends, on behalf of all of us, we want to express our heartfelt condolences on the loss of Matthew.
