Mayo woman Hazel Finn will play for Ireland in the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2027 Qualifiers
Mayo basketball sensation Hazel Finn has been selected as part of James Weldon's 12-player squad for the upcoming FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2027 Qualifiers.
Finn, who has shone in the Women's Super League for Trinity Meteors since leaving Liffey Celtics, will link up with the girls in green as they seek to get their qualifying campaign off to the best possible start.
On Wednesday, Ireland will play their first game of the international window on home turf, at the National Basketball Arena against Luxembourg.
Up next is the visit of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Dublin on Saturday. Both these games will be broadcast live on TG4.
Lastly, Ireland will travel to Riga's Komandas Sporta Spelu Halle for the third and final game of the window on Tuesday, November 18.
The winners and second-placed sides from each of the groups, as well as the three best-ranked third-placed teams, will all progress to the finals in Belgium, Finland, Lithuania, and Sweden.
Finn's new club, Trinity Meteors, is flying high in the Super League tables, with only one loss to third-placed SETU Waterford Wildcats in their opening five games, seeing them in second place at the International Break.
