The “Infrangible Bonds Collection” by artist Bó Gorm will officially open on Friday, February 27 at 7pm at the Pearse Street venue in Ballina. The collection will be exhibited in the Semora (Garden Room) for a number of weeks following the launch.

The exhibition follows a successful showing at the Michael Davitt Museum in Straide, Co. Mayo and brings together a series of reverse-painted glass works inspired by Ireland’s Celtic past.

Described as an epic journey through ancient kingdoms and landscapes of myth and legend, the collection draws on themes of kings and druids, saints and scholars, fairies and folklore, poets and bards. It seeks to create what the artist describes as “infrangible bonds” — unbreakable connections — between Ireland’s past, present and future.

“This is a stunning collection of work with themes based in Irish myth and legend and demonstrating the infrangible bonds that bind us together knowingly or unknowingly, through our shared experiences, our religion, our arts and crafts and our cultural identity with a wider world,” shared the Jackie Clarke Collection.

The richly coloured works depict figures and stories from Ireland’s Celtic heritage and national folklore, while also highlighting the cultural links and shared influences that connect Ireland with other nations.

The collection will be introduced on the night by Yvonne Fannon and Margaret Fannon, and refreshments will be served.

The launch event is free of charge, but as spaces are limited, booking is essential. Those wishing to attend are asked to contact The Jackie Clarke Collection on 096 73508 to reserve a place.
