North Mayo Family Businesses Recognised as Finalists in the 2025 Family Business Awards

North Mayo is proudly represented among the finalists for the 2025 Family Business Awards, celebrating the vital role family-run enterprises play in communities across Ireland.

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 30 at The Johnstown Estate, Enfield, Co. Meath, starting at 12:30pm.

Local businesses have been acknowledged for their dedication, innovation, and contribution to the regional economy. Bar Square in Ballina has received multiple nominations, including Best Small Family Business of the Year in the Connacht area, Fastest Growing Family Business, Hospitality Business of the Year, and the Rising Star Award for Michael Carr. The team has also been nominated for the People’s Choice Award – Best in Connacht, reflecting their strong connection with the local community.

Mocha Beans Ballina has reached the finals for the Connacht “Small Family Business of the Year” award, while Moy Hotel in Foxford is also a finalist for Best Small Family Business of the Year in Connacht.

Other nominees from the wider Mayo area include Croagh Patrick Seafood, Mayo Leisure Point, Kirrane Auctioneering, An Even Better Place to Work Ltd, Cong Holiday Group, and McGraths Cong Group.

Commenting on the nominations, Mairéad Melody Carr, Manager of Mayo North Tourism, Said “Family businesses are the heartbeat of Mayo. They bring together tradition, hard work, and community spirit, and it is wonderful to see their contribution recognised on a national stage. Beyond providing essential services, these businesses play a vital role in welcoming visitors and showcasing the warmth and character of our region. Their success is a success for tourism and for the communities they serve.”

The 2025 Family Business Awards celebrate excellence, resilience, and innovation in family-run enterprises across Ireland. North Mayo’s finalists are a testament to the dedication and creativity that makes the region a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

Tickets for the awards ceremony are now available, and the event promises to be a memorable celebration of Ireland’s most outstanding family businesses.
