A QUANTITY of drugs believed to be cocaine with an expected street value of between €5,000 and €10,000 was discovered by gardaí in a house in Westport.
The discovery of the drug was made on Monday evening, September 2, when gardaí searched a house in the town centre. The substance is understood to be cocaine and has been sent to the State lab for analysis. If the drug is confirmed as cocaine, gardaí suspect the it could be worth in the region of €5,000 and €10,000, depending on the quantity and quality of the drug.
Nobody was arrested or questioned following the seizure of the drug, but gardaí in Westport are currently following a definite line of inquiry and are awaiting confirmation that the drug is cocaine before progressing the investigation.
